Rockwell Automation Joins Leaders to Launch Digital CMC Consortium
Rockwell Automation has announced its role as a founding member of the Digital CMC Consortium, aimed at boosting digital transformation in pharmaceutical development. The industry collaboration seeks to address challenges in drug development by establishing digital standards to streamline Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) processes.
Currently, manual workflows and lack of standardized processes hinder CMC activities, which are crucial for ensuring drug quality. As therapies become more personalized, digital systems are needed to improve knowledge sharing and decision-making. The consortium includes companies like Novartis and Thermo Fisher Scientific, bringing together expertise from across the pharmaceutical landscape.
"Digital transformation is about building new ways to improve therapy delivery," stated Matt Weaver of Rockwell Automation. The initiative focuses on digital technology transfer and aims to integrate digital capabilities across the CMC lifecycle, enhancing management and content creation through tools like digital twins and AI.
