Robert Kubin Appointed CEO of Erste Asset Management
Robert Kubin will assume the role of CEO at Erste Asset Management, succeeding Heinz Bednar, effective December 1, 2026. Kubin's appointment follows Bednar's retirement after two decades of leadership, during which Erste Asset Management solidified its position as the leading asset manager in Central Europe with over €111 billion in assets under management.
Kubin joins from Amundi, where he served as Vice Chairman of the Board for Central Europe. His extensive experience in asset management and deep understanding of the Central European markets, including the Czech Republic and Poland, position him to continue expanding Erste Asset Management's regional influence.
Bednar will remain in an advisory capacity until August 2027 to ensure a seamless transition. Under his leadership, the firm achieved significant milestones, including surpassing €100 billion in managed assets. Bednar's contributions also extended to his presidency of the Austrian Association of Investment Companies.
