RBC Unveils Unified Global Transaction Banking Initiative

On August 25, 2026, the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) announced the formation of a unified Global Transaction Banking (GTB) division. This initiative is intended to bolster RBC's reputation as a globally connected bank by integrating its transaction banking functions across its Commercial Banking and Capital Markets divisions in Canada and the U.S. The goal is to enhance client service through seamless international operations.

GTB will be co-led by Sean Amato-Gauci and Derek Neldner, aiming to establish RBC as a leader in global transaction banking. The integration will create a cohesive strategy leveraging RBC's capabilities in technology, product development, and client coverage.

Kartik Kaushik and Michael Klopchic have been appointed to key leadership roles within GTB, focusing on product innovation and client engagement respectively. GTB seeks to build on RBC's strong performance in Canada, particularly its leading positions in transaction banking and payments. The initiative includes platforms like RBC Clear and RBC Edge to support clients' cash management needs globally.
