Raiffeisen Bank Faces Legal Battle Against Rasperia in Austria

Raiffeisen Bank International AG (RBI) and its Russian subsidiary, AO Raiffeisenbank, plan to initiate legal proceedings against Rasperia Trading Limited in Austria. This decision follows a Russian court's anti-suit injunction restricting legal actions involving Rasperia outside Russia, with the exception of Austria.

The proceedings aim to claim damages amounting to approximately EUR 3.15 billion, with a focus on the enforcement against Rasperia's Austrian assets. These include 28.5 million STRABAG SE shares, alongside dividend attachments and cash distribution from STRABAG SE’s 2024 capital reduction.

If successful, the RBI Management Board anticipates receiving enforcement proceeds within six to 12 months. However, the legal process could incur costs of up to EUR 150 million for the RBI Group, excluding Russia, in 2026.
