Pyrum and UNITANK Form Joint Venture for Tyre Recycling Plants in Europe
Pyrum Innovations AG and UNITANK Holding GmbH have formed a joint venture, UniPyrum, to establish up to ten end-of-life tyre recycling plants across Europe. Each facility will initially include at least three thermolysis reactors, capable of processing 22,000 tonnes of tyres annually.
The venture will be headquartered in Hamburg, with UNITANK holding a 51% stake and Pyrum 49%. The approval process for the first plant in Emleben, Thuringia, is set to start soon. The partnership aims to enhance Europe's tyre recycling capacity, supporting circular economy goals.
UNITANK's expertise in infrastructure and Pyrum's innovative technology form a foundation for this strategic expansion. Future plans involve specific regions and pre-engineering tasks, with efforts underway to secure suppliers and buyers for the recycled products.
