AI Reshapes Global Labor Market, Highlights Human Skills: PwC Report
According to PwC's 2026 Global AI Jobs Barometer, AI is reshaping the labor market into 'professionalised' and 'democratised' paths. 'Professionalised' roles are growing faster due to increased demand for human skills like judgment and creativity. These roles show higher job and wage growth compared to 'democratised' roles.
Companies effectively leveraging AI experience faster headcount growth (52% vs. 36%) and wage increases (24% vs. 17%) than lesser AI-exposed firms. 'Super-star' companies achieve 163% labor productivity gains, far surpassing their peers.
Jobs requiring AI skills are expanding nearly eight times faster than the general job market, with a 62% wage premium. Entry-level positions increasingly demand skills traditionally needed at senior levels.
This evolution prompts firms to reconsider talent development, prioritizing leadership and adaptability despite AI's automation capabilities.
