PPX Mining Advances Electrical Grid Connection for Igor Project
PPX Mining Corp. announced progress in the permitting process to connect its Igor Project processing plant to the medium-voltage electrical grid. Key approvals include the Detailed Electrical Engineering and a Certificate of Non-Existence of Archaeological Remains (CIRA).
An official letter from the Ministry of Culture confirms no archaeological remains impact the project. Technical approval from Distriluz (Hidrandina) for the 13.8 kV Medium Voltage Utilization System has been secured.
The planned 6.3 km transmission line will connect the Igor Project to Huaranchal in the Otuzco Province. Government-led enhancements to the local electrical distribution network are underway, upgrading 50.93 km of lines with a S/ 12.25 million investment.
The shift from diesel to grid power aims to reduce operational costs and improve energy efficiency. This transition aligns with efforts to minimize the environmental impact by lowering fuel consumption and emissions.
