Positive Outcomes from Aelis Farma's Retrospective Study on AEF0217
Aelis Farma has reported promising results from a retrospective study on the effects of AEF0217 for individuals with Down syndrome. AEF0217, a novel Signaling Specific inhibitor of the CB1 receptor, is seen improving daily adaptability among this demographic. In a placebo-controlled Phase 1/2 trial, caregivers witnessed significant enhancements in daily living skills, social interactions, and communication for those administered AEF0217.
The retrospective study involved caregivers assessing changes post-treatment. Notably, 37.5% of caregivers of participants who received AEF0217 reported satisfaction with its effects on cognitive impairments, compared to 10% in the placebo group. The trial further analyzed behavioral domains, highlighting AEF0217's superior efficacy in enhancing daily skills, independence, sociability, and communication, with substantial improvements observed in several subdomains.
