Plume Network Introduces KRW Stablecoin for Korean Institutional Investment
Plume Network, a prominent global real-world asset (RWA) platform, has launched the KRW1 stablecoin, facilitating Korean institutional investments through a collaboration with BDACS, a digital asset custody firm. This move enables direct Korean won transactions within Plume's ecosystem, broadening opportunities for investment outside the USD framework.
Teddy Pornprinya, Plume's Co-Founder, emphasized Korea's regulatory readiness. Recent legal amendments have made Korea's financial environment favorable for security tokens, enhancing Plume's strategic expansion in Asia. The KRW1, launched in 2025, is backed by deposits at Woori Bank, ensuring its financial stability.
By integrating KRW1, Plume aims to minimize FX costs for Korean investors, simplifying operational processes, and encouraging greater institutional involvement. This aligns with future plans to support more Asian currencies, reinforcing Plume's position in Asia.
