Playroll and Expensify Enhance Compliance for Scaling SMBs

Playroll, a global employment platform, has collaborated with Expensify to address a challenge faced by scaling SMBs: global employee reimbursement without the need for compliance staff. Previously, businesses could either create an in-house compliance function or invest in complex enterprise software. The new integration between Playroll and Expensify changes that, allowing expenses to flow directly into Playroll's payroll engine. The system covers 180+ countries and ensures compliance by classifying reimbursements according to local tax rules.

Playroll's Managing Director, Erez Golan, highlighted the aim to simplify international growth by automating complex compliance processes. This partnership allows SMBs to access enterprise-level compliance infrastructure affordably, without long-term contracts. Key benefits include automated tax compliance, real-time audit trails, and local currency processing, making it possible for SMBs to scale effectively.

Nick Tooker from Expensify emphasized that this collaboration builds infrastructure enabling SMBs to compete globally while reducing overhead costs. The partnership also includes integrated customer onboarding and training programs for finance teams.
