N&S Schweißtechnik Boosts Production with Panasonic's TAWERS System
N&S Schweißtechnik, a German contract manufacturer, has enhanced its production capabilities by integrating two Panasonic TAWERS robotic welding systems. This move boosts productivity and cost efficiency for high-mix, low-volume manufacturing at their Wuppertal facility. The systems enable shorter downtimes and increased production capacity through Panasonic's PA-ET-2DK and PA-TT-2DK cells.
The Panasonic solution includes a rotary table and dual tilt-rotary positioners, which allow concurrent welding and component preparation. This system supports both tack and final welding and can quickly adapt to new parts. Operating around the clock, it handles heavy-duty components with a 500 A torch, and a 400 A torch for challenging areas.
The flexibility of Panasonic's system also allows N&S Schweißtechnik to diversify production into smaller components. Continuous training and support from Panasonic further optimize operations. Mike Pawlik, Operations Manager, highlights the profound impact of this productivity increase on their operations.
