Pacific Ocean International Festival of Rock Balancing and Arts Launches in Taiwan
On May 1st, the Pacific Ocean International Festival of Rock Balancing and Arts commenced at the Qixingtan Scenic Area in Hualien, Taiwan. The festival unites global artists from countries like Sweden, Spain, Iraq, Japan, and Turkey with Taiwanese creators. It aims to promote cross-cultural dialogue through rock balancing and interdisciplinary arts along the Pacific coast.
The event includes international art exhibitions, rock balancing contests, family activities, local markets, and hands-on workshops. Visitors are encouraged to engage with nature through creating rock artworks. Competitions for photography and short videos invite creative interpretations of the art form.
In collaboration with the European Land Art Festival in Scotland, the event looks to position Hualien as an Asian hub for international art competitions. The opening featured a unique rock-inspired musical performance by Professor Lin Tze-ying and students, blending the region's natural and cultural sounds. The festival runs until June 30, inviting a global audience to enjoy this intersection of art and nature.
