Ottobock's Strategic Acquisition of Blatchford's Norwegian Operations
Ottobock SE & Co. KGaA has finalized a deal to acquire Blatchford Norway A/S for approximately €110 million. The acquisition involves Blatchford's Norwegian patient care business, which includes eight locations and 200 employees. In its last fiscal year, Blatchford Norway reported revenues of around €40 million.
This strategic move allows Ottobock to extend its Patient Care network, comprising over 420 locations globally. Prior to this acquisition, Ottobock had no direct operations in Norway, and this purchase fills a strategic gap in the European market. The acquisition aligns with Ottobock's strategy of integrating leading patient care companies into its network.
The transaction is expected to be finalized in the coming days. With expanding technology in the orthosis & prosthesis sector, close cooperation with medical institutions is becoming more vital, supporting Ottobock's acquisition rationale.
