Valerio Therapeutics Proposes to Acquire Etherna Immunotherapies
Valerio Therapeutics has announced a binding offer to acquire Etherna Immunotherapies, aiming to create a leader in targeted RNA medicines. This move aligns with Valerio's strategy to extend its reach beyond liver-targeted treatments, focusing on high unmet medical needs. The acquisition plans to integrate active sdAb targeting with passive LNP delivery into a cohesive RNA medicines platform.
The deal, valued at €30 million, includes both cash and shares, pending regulatory approvals and shareholder consent. Etherna, known for its mRNA and LNP technologies, supports Valerio's ambitions to accelerate RNA therapeutics development. This acquisition follows Gilles Besin’s appointment as CEO, bringing vast expertise in RNA medicine and delivery technologies.
