OHB and Astroscale Sign Agreement to Enhance Space Security Cooperation

On October 28, 2026, OHB SE and Astroscale Holdings Inc. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement aims to explore joint opportunities in space security and in-orbit servicing. The collaboration aligns with strengthening industrial ties between Germany, the United Kingdom, and Japan.

Announced at a German-Japanese industry event in Tokyo during Chancellor Friedrich Merz's Asia visit, the MoU seeks to address the rising demand for resilient space systems. The agreement encourages combining the companies' satellite systems expertise to improve space infrastructure protection.

The focus will be on cooperation between OHB in Germany and Astroscale’s UK entity. Opportunities in Japan and other international markets will also be examined. Both companies emphasize long-term usability and security in space, reflected by this collaboration.

Markus Moeller of OHB SE highlighted the strategic necessity of protecting space infrastructure. Nobu Okada of Astroscale echoed the importance of trusted international partnerships to tackle complex space challenges.
