North Shore Uranium Pushes Forward Rio Puerco Drilling Plans

North Shore Uranium Ltd. has announced advancements in its Rio Puerco uranium project, located in New Mexico's Grants Uranium District. A 2009 historical resource estimate noted 6 million tonnes at 0.09% eU3O8, equivalent to 11.4 million pounds of U3O8. This estimate was based on 1960s and 1970s drill data by Kerr McGee Corporation.

The company leveraged historical data to develop a preliminary model to interpret and potentially expand the uranium mineralization at Rio Puerco. Upcoming 2026 drilling aims to verify and potentially extend these findings beyond the initial historical resource area. The permit application with relevant authorities is underway.

Kerr McGee collected data from over 1,000 drill holes, providing a strong foundation for North Shore's exploration planning. The historical data supports the use of in-situ recovery mining, which is cost-effective for uranium production.
