Nordex Group Secures Orders for 137 MW Repowering Projects in Germany
Hamburg, 17 March 2026. The Nordex Group has acquired two significant orders for repowering projects located on Fehmarn, a Baltic Sea island in Germany. These projects, Fehmarn-Mitte I and Fehmarn-Mitte II, will involve the supply and installation of 24 N163/5.X wind turbines, totaling 136.8 MW in capacity. The agreement, secured with Fehmarn-Mitte GmbH, also includes a 20-year premium service arrangement, aiming to maintain high technical availability.
The installation is set for summer 2027, with full commissioning by fall 2027. The modern turbines, each with a 5.7 MW capacity, will replace older models, enhancing electricity generation while adhering to environmental regulations. These projects are pivotal examples of effective onshore repowering strategies on the island.
Karsten Brüggemann, Vice President Region Central of Nordex Group, emphasized the significant economic and ecological benefits the new technology will bring. The collaboration between Nordex and Osterhof Detlef Regenerative Energien GmbH & Co. KG is set to foster future partnerships.
