Nordex Group Secures First Order for N175/6.X Turbine
The Nordex Group announced its first order for the N175/6.X turbine, with a 199-meter hub height, for a 21 MW project in North Rhine-Westphalia. This development represents a milestone in onshore wind turbine technology. The Marienmünster-Altenbergen project, managed by Westfälisch-Niedersächsische Energie GmbH & Co. KG, marks the installation of Nordex's tallest series-produced turbine by 2027.
The project will feature three turbines, each rated at 7 MW, using the company's hybrid tower system combining concrete and steel. Construction begins in September 2026, with completion expected by summer 2027. The turbine's height allows energy generation at low wind speeds, enhancing reliability and efficiency, especially when electricity prices rise. This contributes significantly to renewable energy transitions in the region.
