NextSource Materials Partners with Mitsubishi Chemical for Graphite Supply

NextSource Materials Inc. has announced a multi-year offtake agreement with Japan's Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (MCC). The deal involves supplying approximately 9,000 tonnes per annum of anode active material for the North American electric vehicle market.

This collaboration marks a significant step for NextSource towards vertical integration outside of China. The company is advancing plans for a large-scale Battery Anode Facility in the UAE to meet MCC's volume requirements. These strategic developments align with meeting increasing demand for high-quality graphite.

NextSource's CEO emphasized the importance of this partnership, which leverages resources from the Molo mine in Madagascar. The agreement also addresses recent U.S. tariffs on China-sourced graphite, offering a compliant alternative supply chain.
