On December 22, 2025, Nexans announced exclusive negotiations with Samvardhana Motherson International Limited for selling its Autoelectric division. The deal is valued at €207 million. Autoelectric, based in Floss, Germany, has been generating around €749 million in sales annually with nearly 14,000 employees. This move marks Nexans' transformation into a pure electrification entity.

CEO Julien Hueber highlighted the strategic shift toward electrification, noting Motherson's fit within the automotive sector. Motherson's Chairman, Vivek Chaand Sehgal, emphasized the acquisition's importance in enhancing their wiring harness capabilities.

The transaction awaits regulatory approvals and could conclude by mid-2026. Nexans' financial outlook for 2025 will adjust to reflect Autoelectric's reclassification as a discontinued operation under IFRS 5 standards.
