National Museum of Singapore Commemorates 60th Anniversary with New Experiences

The National Museum of Singapore (NMS) marks the nation's 60th anniversary of independence with two new exhibitions showcasing Singapore's transformation through history. The initiative highlights Singapore's journey from settlement to global city, celebrating milestones spanning 700 years.

The first exhibition, Singapore Odyssea: A Journey Through Time, is located at the Shaw Foundation Glass Rotunda. This immersive experience, enhanced by an RFID-enabled wristband, guides visitors through significant historical moments using interactive elements and engaging media displays.

The second exhibition, Once Upon a Tide: Singapore's Journey from Settlement to Global City, runs until October 2026. It features over 350 artefacts, divided into five thematic sections. Through maps, artefacts, and personal accounts, visitors explore Singapore’s maritime history and its evolution as a global hub.

Both experiences encourage reflection on Singapore's identity, contributing to a broader narrative of the nation's past, present, and future.
