NanoViricides Files Annual Report: NV-387 Enters Phase II Trials

NanoViricides, Inc. has officially filed its fiscal report for 2026, revealing significant progress in its antiviral drug, NV-387. The company obtained approval from ACOREP for a Phase II trial in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), testing NV-387 against Mpox. Despite abating cases in Kinshasa, the trial targets remote areas with higher incidence. In July 2026, NV-387 also secured approval to test its efficacy against Ebola in the ravaged Ituri province. Across DRC, confirmed Ebola cases have surged to 7,890 by late September, underscoring the urgency of these trials.

NanoViricides is actively pursuing regulatory approvals in the U.S. It achieved Orphan Drug Designation and Rare Pediatric Disease Drug approval from the FDA for NV-387 targeting measles. Financially, NanoViricides raised over $9 million during the period but acknowledged ongoing liquidity challenges and the necessity to seek additional funding. Despite these hurdles, the company remains optimistic about NV-387’s potential as a broad-spectrum antiviral treatment.
