NanoViricides Applies for Phase II Trials of NV-387 Oral Gummies for Ebola in DRC
NanoViricides, Inc., a leader in antiviral drug development, has applied to the regulatory agency ACOREP for approval to conduct a Phase II clinical trial of NV-387 Oral Gummies in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The trial aims to treat Ebola caused by the Bundibugyo strain, which has resulted in over 930 deaths since May 15, 2026.
The trial will be conducted in collaboration with Om Sai Clinical Research, and sufficient quantities of the drug are already available in the DRC. NV-387 is an oral broad-spectrum antiviral, noted for its potential advantages over infusion-based treatments in resource-limited settings. The trial's urgency is underscored by the rapid outbreak, which now affects five DRC provinces.
