Mutares Sells Prénatal Netherlands to CEO Jochem van Bueren

Mutares SE & Co. KGaA has completed the sale of Prénatal Netherlands to the company's CEO, Jochem van Bueren. This transaction marks a strategic move aligned with Mutares' focus on reducing its exposure in the Retail and Automotive sectors, pivoting towards Chemicals, Energy, Infrastructure, Logistics, and Services.

Prénatal, a renowned Dutch omnichannel retailer with over 65 years of history, generates approximately EUR 80 million in revenue through its 34 stores and growing e-commerce platform. Van Bueren, who became CEO in January 2026, has been pivotal in revitalizing the brand, enhancing its business model for profitability and sustainability.

This sale allows van Bueren to steer Prénatal Netherlands independently into future growth phases, while Mutares continues to refine its portfolio strategy under the guidance of CIO Johannes Laumann.
