Mutares to Acquire Hyva's Crane Business Unit

Mutares SE & Co. KGaA has announced an agreement to acquire the crane business unit of Hyva. This acquisition is intended to bolster Mutares' Goods & Services segment and is anticipated to close in the fourth quarter of 2025, pending merger control approval. The crane business unit, a globally recognized manufacturer and distributor of truck-mounted cranes, generates approximately EUR 100 million in revenues and employs around 400 staff. With production facilities in Italy, Brazil, and China, it operates under a multi-brand strategy, serving industries such as construction and marine equipment.

Johannes Laumann, CIO of Mutares, highlights the potential for turning around the business due to its recent financial challenges. Mutares aims to leverage its expertise in carve-outs and restructuring to restore profitability and drive growth. This acquisition aligns with Mutares' strategy of investing in companies with significant operational improvement potential.
