Mutares Completes Acquisition of Steinmüller Engineering from IHI Group

Mutares SE & Co. KGaA has finalized the acquisition of Steinmüller Engineering GmbH, a leader in thermal-process engineering, from the Japanese IHI Group. The move enhances Mutares' presence in the energy transition and industrial decarbonization sector. Steinmüller, whose history dates back to 1874, has expertise in combustion, incineration, and air pollution control systems. Last fiscal year, the company reported a total output nearing EUR 100 million and has completed over 1,300 projects for more than 500 clients globally.

This acquisition, executed as a share deal, signals a new platform investment in Mutares' Energy & Technology segment. Steinmüller's substantial engineering expertise and patent portfolio offer significant potential for growth and value creation. The deal also reflects Mutares' strategic engagements within the global market, marking another acquisition from a distinguished Japanese industrial group.
