Munich Re Achieves €2.2bn Quarterly Profit Surpassing Predictions
Munich Re has reported a strong Q2 2026, achieving a preliminary net profit of €2.2 billion. This performance significantly exceeds the consensus estimate of €1.786 billion from financial analysts. The impressive results are attributed to favorable operational performance and minimal major-loss expenditure in the property-casualty reinsurance sector.
The company also showcased an outstanding investment outcome, contributing to ERGO's notable net earnings of approximately €0.3 billion. With a net result of around €3.9 billion for the first half of 2026, Munich Re remains on course to achieve its annual target of €6.3 billion. The final Q2 results will be disclosed on August 7, 2026.
