Moldovan Agricultural Exports Expand in EU and Swiss Markets
In recent years, Moldova has improved its position as a competitive agricultural exporter in the European Union and Switzerland. Between 2013 and 2024, Moldovan exports to the EU grew significantly, with agricultural products like cereals and fruits at the forefront. Particularly noteworthy is the increase in cereal exports, reaching USD 226.5 million in 2024, an eightfold rise from 2013.
Investments in the modernization of the sector, supported by EU and EBRD programs, have fueled this expansion. The focus is on ensuring traceability and food safety, responding to European demands. Switzerland, while a niche market, shows growing potential for high-quality, certified products.
Invest Moldova highlights strategic initiatives such as AgroTek Industrial Park, which promises new opportunities in digital agricultural innovation, aiming to transform Moldova into a reliable supplier to both European and Swiss markets.
