MindMaze Therapeutics Backs Study on Stroke Recovery Enhancements

MindMaze Therapeutics is supporting a study at the University of Pittsburgh that investigates a novel method for stroke recovery. The approach combines cervical spinal cord stimulation (SCS) with high-dose, high-intensity neurotherapy to improve arm movement post-stroke.

The study builds on research indicating immediate improvements in movement through SCS. It aims to determine whether these gains can be sustained when coupled with intensive therapy. By focusing on the natural relearning processes of the nervous system, the study seeks to extend recovery beyond the initial benefits provided by stimulation alone.

MindMaze's technology facilitates this by enabling high-intensity, intent-driven practice without increasing clinician workload. The study reflects MindMaze's strategy to advance combination neurotherapies, potentially enhancing recovery for patients who've plateaued with traditional treatments.
