Metalli Living Space Project Gains Political Support in Zug
The Metalli Living Space project in Zug took a significant step forward as the Grand Municipal Council supported it during a first reading. This plan aims to revitalize the Metalli district, adding residential and green spaces. Notably, 160 flats, including 64 affordable units, are planned. The project will enhance Zug with improved public transport links and vibrant community spaces.
The Zug City Council had previously endorsed the development plan in April 2025. CEO Patrik Stillhart noted the importance of the Metalli Centre's historical role in the community and the project's aim to adapt to modern needs.
New architectural features, such as a rooftop terrace, will provide scenic views and public spaces. A public inspection of the development plan will precede a second reading in spring 2026. Official approval by the Canton of Zug is anticipated by autumn 2026.
