Mammotome Unveils Innovative MR Breast Biopsy System

Mammotome, a company under Danaher, has launched the Mammotome Prima™ MR Dual Vacuum-Assisted Breast Biopsy System. Notably, it’s the first of its kind capable of being positioned directly in the MRI scanner room, allowing enhanced coordination and communication during procedures by placing the biopsy device beside the patient.

The system is designed with an intuitive interface, offering larger tissue samples due to its stronger vacuum and 8-gauge needle. With 75% less tubing compared to other systems, setup and cleanup times are reduced, lessening biohazard waste. The system offers easy adjustments via a touchscreen interface, ultimately focusing on delivering safe and compassionate patient care.

The Mammotome Prima™ MR system has secured the CE mark and initial cases have commenced in select European countries. It will be featured at the European Society of Radiology Congress in March, with plans for global market expansion throughout the year.
