Mako Mining Acquires Moss Mine in Arizona
Mako Mining Corp. has finalized the acquisition of the Moss gold mine in the historic Oatman District, Arizona. The purchase, concluded on March 26th, 2025, follows prior announcements and involves acquiring 100% of Golden Vertex Corp., the mine's operating subsidiary. The $6.49 million deal was paid in cash, reflecting prior costs and initial operational inputs from Wexford Capital LP.
Since acquiring the mine on December 31st, 2024, Mako has produced gold and silver worth approximately $4.8 million, significantly offsetting its net acquisition cost. This strategic acquisition adds a valuable asset to Mako's portfolio, complementing its existing operations in Nicaragua and potential projects in Guyana.
The transaction is classified as a related party deal due to Wexford's involvement. Mako complied with relevant regulations, appointing a special committee to oversee the process. However, ongoing royalty disputes remain unresolved and under Court review.
