Lumibird sells its medical division to IPG Photonics
On September 8, 2026, Lumibird signed a share purchase agreement to sell its medical division to IPG Photonics Corporation. The agreement, reached after exclusive negotiations and consultation with employees, values Lumibird Medical at €300 million. An earn-out payment, based on performance in 2026 and 2027, could add up to an additional €50 million.
The transaction, approved by Lumibird's Board of Directors, is still subject to certain conditions. Completion is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026. The proceeds from the sale will be used to repay €37 million of debt and invest in the Photonics division.
