LION E-Mobility Advances with BESS Project in Germany
LION E-Mobility AG has commenced delivery of its Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) containers to Finsterwalde, Germany. The project, led by Renoc GmbH, marks a significant step for LION's storage business. The initial phase includes grid connection works by LION Smart, aiming for a July commissioning with 5 MW capacity and 20 MWh storage. The project's value is estimated at €750k, with prepayments made in late 2025.
A second phase is set for early 2027, expanding to 15 MW and 40 MWh at a value of €1.5m. LION expects partial prepayments by H2 2026, projecting increased BESS sales in the latter half of the year. Negotiations continue for additional deals within a 7.5 Gwh pipeline, with a potential revenue of €280m.
Despite limited short-term profit impacts, the project underscores LION's mid-term growth potential, particularly once grid connection approvals ease. The company reaffirms its FY26 sales target of over €35m, supported by NMC+ production ramp-up.
