Linde Partners with Blue Point on Low-Carbon Ammonia Facility

Stock price chart of Linde Plc (EBR:LIN) showing fluctuations.

Linde plc has signed a long-term agreement to supply industrial gases to Blue Point Number One's low-carbon ammonia plant in Louisiana. Blue Point is a joint venture involving CF Industries, JERA, and Mitsui & Co. The facility in Ascension Parish expects to produce 1.4 million metric tons of low-carbon ammonia annually, positioning it among the world's largest projects of its kind.

Linde intends to invest over $400 million in a new air separation unit (ASU) on-site to supply oxygen and nitrogen. This new ASU will be the largest in the southeast Louisiana Mississippi River corridor, bolstering Linde's existing infrastructure. The facility is anticipated to commence operations in 2029.

The collaboration aims to create a stable supply chain for low-carbon ammonia, driven by rising energy demands. Linde's established expertise in clean energy and industrial gases is a key asset for the project's success.
