Holcim to Acquire Xella, Expanding Sustainable Construction Expertise
Holcim has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Xella, a leader in sustainable walling systems in Europe. Xella projects 2025 net sales of approximately EUR 1 billion, contributing to a strategic market expansion for Holcim.
The acquisition aligns with Holcim's NextGen Growth 2030 strategy. Holcim aims to integrate Xella's brands like Ytong, Silka, Hebel, and Multipor, enhancing its product portfolio with additional sustainable offerings. This transaction is expected to deliver EUR 60 million in EBITDA synergies by the third year, enhancing earnings per share in the first year itself.
Holcim CEO, Miljan Gutovic, emphasized the strategic move's role in advancing Holcim's position as a key player in sustainable construction. The purchase price is EUR 1.85 billion, with closing expected in the second half of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.
