KNDS Turrets Chosen for India's Light Combat Helicopters

In a recent announcement, KNDS revealed that its 20 mm THL20 turrets will be integrated into India's new Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) program. The company, known for its expertise in aerial defense, will deliver 126 THL20 turrets. This agreement is an extension of a relationship with the Indian Air Force that began in 2006, already including 136 turrets for Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH).

The THL20 turret, developed from the THL30, is noted for its precision and compatibility with helicopter sighting systems. It is designed around the versatile 20M621 gun, using standard NATO 20x102mm ammunition, offering high targeting accuracy in a lightweight and compact form.

This contract highlights KNDS's alignment with India's 'Make in India' initiative, further enhancing its local footprint through partnerships for ammunition manufacture. KNDS remains a key supplier for India's defense forces, providing both turrets and ammunition.
