Klöckner & Co Plans to Divest Becker Group
Klöckner & Co SE has announced its intention to sell Becker Group, a leading entity in the European flat steel sector. This decision follows an in-depth strategic review by Klöckner & Co's Management Board. The sale aims to allow Becker Group to participate in European industry consolidation under new ownership. Klöckner & Co plans to refocus on high value-added products by divesting Becker Group.
Becker Group, despite being a significant player in the flat steel market, reported financial challenges. Sales figures show a decline from €796 million in 2024 to €567 million in the first nine months of 2025, coupled with negative operating results.
Klöckner & Co, a major independent steel processor, seeks to reinforce its service center operations and enhance its CO2-reduced solutions. This strategic shift aligns with Klöckner & Co's broader corporate objectives.
