Kalo Gold Identifies Large Epithermal Gold Targets at Wainikoro, Fiji
Kalo Gold Corp, a Vancouver-based company, has announced progress in its ongoing exploration at Wainikoro within the Vatu Aurum Project in Fiji. The project, located about 5 km west of Aurum Prime, shows promise with identified kilometre-scale epithermal gold targets and structural corridors along the Nubu Graben.
Recent drilling and further soil geochemistry have highlighted arsenic-in-soil anomalies. Indicators consistent with a low-sulphidation epithermal system have been observed, signaling potential gold deposits. Two drilled holes, VA26-DH18 and VA26-DH19, have improved understanding of the geological setup, though certified Fire Assay results are still pending.
Kalo Gold continues leveraging systematic exploration methods, integrating soil geochemistry, trenching, and geophysical surveys to define high-confidence drilling targets across a 40 km corridor. The strategy aims to optimize capital efficiency while advancing exploration targets toward drilling stage. Further development includes high-resolution airborne magnetic and radiometric surveys.
