Julius Meinl Drives Coffee Industry Transformation with Sustainability Efforts

Julius Meinl has unveiled its Sustainability Report 2025, showcasing its strides in coffee sourcing, climate action, and community initiatives. Facing challenges like climate change and rising commodity prices, the Vienna-based family business invests in sustainable practices and community support, particularly through the expansion of its Responsibly Selected Coffee program. The company sources green coffee from 16 regions and achieved a milestone in 2025 by sourcing 100% responsibly for its roasting plants in Vienna and Vicenza.

The Generations Programme has extended its reach, now aiding farmers in Colombia, Uganda, India, and Honduras. The initiative aims to bolster farming communities' resilience against climate change, benefitting over 1,500 farmers and their families. Concurrently, Julius Meinl reduces its environmental footprint by using renewable electricity and implementing emission-reducing tech, cutting emissions by up to 50% per roasting batch.
