Announced by President William Ruto in 2024, the initiative addresses rising demand for OCI services in the region.

The selection of iXAfrica highlights its status as a leading hyperscale data center in Kenya, offering carrier neutrality, AI capabilities, and strategic connectivity. Snehar Shah, CEO of iXAfrica, expressed enthusiasm about leveraging Kenya's renewable energy and connectivity resources through this collaboration.

David Bunei, Oracle's country leader for Kenya, emphasized OCI's global reputation for security and scalability. The infrastructure is in advanced deployment stages, ready to support hyperscale cloud platforms, underscoring iXAfrica's commitment to digital growth in Kenya.
