Basler Verkehrs-Betriebe (BVB) successfully implements the IVU.vehicle depot management system from IVU Traffic Technologies AG. This move enables the control of its entire diesel and electric bus fleet, comprising 120 buses. The system manages depot operations at Klybeck and Messehalle, automating parking and bus maintenance processes.

The intelligent system recognizes buses automatically, allocating appropriate parking spots and routing malfunctioning vehicles to maintenance without manual intervention. The charging management system optimizes the electric fleet's recharge status, considering external factors such as weather and traffic.

The implementation forms part of BVB's digitalization efforts, with smart algorithms optimizing charging times for cost savings. Additionally, vehicles are preconditioned before departure, improving service satisfaction.
