Irving Resources Publishes 2026 Exploration Plans for Shika Prospect
Irving Resources Inc. has shared assay results from the Shika epithermal gold-silver prospect on Japan's Noto Peninsula. Assays from rock chip and soil samples show elevated gold, silver, mercury, and arsenic levels, especially around the historical Unoya Gold Mine. This mine, part of Japan's common low-sulfidation epithermal vein system, has quartz vein samples with gold assays exceeding 1 g/t, reinforcing the area's potential.
In 2026, Irving plans to perform a drone-borne magnetic survey over the Unoya site to delineate zones of potential mineralization. This survey, covering 4.0 km by 2.5 km, aims to identify zones with low magnetic intensity indicative of hydrothermally altered zones.
The joint venture with Newmont and Sumitomo supports Irving's exploration efforts, aiming to become the largest prospecting license holder in the Noto area. The project's success could significantly enhance understanding of the geological landscape similar to the historic Sado Kinzan gold mine.
