Latvian Companies Foster New Collaborations in Sweden
During an official visit to Sweden, Latvian companies initiated new cooperation projects in technology, defence, and green transformation sectors. Organised by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) and led by Minister of Economics Viktors Valainis, the visit aimed at strengthening ties with key economic partner Sweden, the largest investor in Latvia. Meetings in Stockholm with companies like Amazon Web Services and Saab focused on digital infrastructure and defence industries.
The Latvia–Sweden Business Forum, attended by over 200 representatives, highlighted bilateral economic opportunities. In 2025, trade turnover between Latvia and Sweden reached EUR 2.6 billion. This underscores Sweden's status as Latvia's fifth-largest trading partner. Swedish investments in Latvia are substantial, exceeding EUR 7.7 billion.
The delegation's agenda included more than 130 B2B meetings and investor forums, presenting significant collaboration opportunities in industries like engineering and food production. Supported by the European Regional Development Fund, this initiative aligns with the EU co-funded SME Innovative Business Development Programme.
