Industrial Firms Cite Cybersecurity Risk as Growth Barrier

Rockwell Automation, Inc. reports that over one-third of industrial firms see cybersecurity as a major growth obstacle. This is according to a study involving 1,500 decision makers in 17 countries. Despite significant investments in cybersecurity, these do not guarantee operational resilience.

The report highlights that as IT and OT systems become more connected, vulnerabilities increase. Despite 46% experiencing cyber incidents last year, 90% remain confident in their cybersecurity measures. Notably, 62% have already invested in cybersecurity technology, marking it as a significant ROI generator.

Moreover, 45% of firms plan to deploy AI to enhance cybersecurity. IT/OT convergence both exposes risks and offers business opportunities, with 37% predicting positive outcomes from securing this architecture in the future.
