Industrial Development Bureau of Hengqin Joins ICCA to Boost MICE Industry

The Industrial Development Bureau of Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin has officially joined the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), marking a significant step for the Macao-Hengqin Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry. This move was announced during the recent Macao-Hengqin MICE Enterprises & ICCA Bay Area Members Seminar 2026 in Hengqin.

With a focus on "Global Bidding and Breakthrough Strategies for Emerging Destinations," the event highlighted development opportunities within the cooperative framework, supported by a refined policy and operational models. The revised Measures for Supporting the Development of the MICE Industry offer substantial financial incentives, such as subsidies up to RMB 1 million per event for international conferences and rewards for obtaining ICCA accreditation.

Hengqin plans to attract over ten international conferences by 2027, enhancing its global presence in key fields like artificial intelligence. These initiatives aim to increase Macao-Hengqin's visibility and influence in the global MICE sector.
