'Eternal City' Pompeii Exhibition Enhances Sino-Italian Cultural Links

The 'Encountering Pompeii: The Eternal City' exhibition has opened at the Hunan Museum, Changsha. This event marks a significant cultural collaboration between the Hunan Museum, Naples National Archaeological Museum, and other Italian institutions, highlighting the enduring relationship between China and Italy as they celebrate 55 years of diplomatic ties.

The exhibition focuses on the ancient Roman city of Pompeii, encapsulated in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 CE. Visitors can explore over 130 original Italian artifacts, many displayed in China for the first time, revealing the city's former splendor and daily life through sections dedicated to its history, culture, and volcanic tragedy.

Running until November 2, the exhibition features interactive spaces with projections and 3D effects, providing an immersive experience into Pompeii's past. Opening day events included live performances and lectures by Italian experts, fostering deeper cultural understanding.
