Huawei's Vision for the Future of Mobile Connectivity
Huawei, at the MWC Barcelona 2026, emphasized the need for the ICT industry to harness 5G-Advanced (5G-A) to support emerging AI applications. Yang Chaobin, CEO of Huawei's ICT Business Group, advocated for expanding inclusive connectivity to bridge the digital divide, particularly in underserved regions. This shift aims to fully exploit 5G-A's potential, setting the stage for 6G development.
The surge in AI applications is driving demand for higher bandwidth and secure connectivity. Huawei stresses deploying 5G-A across more frequency bands, with U6 GHz as a pivotal spectrum for mobile communications. Huawei's all-scenario RuralStar solutions have already enhanced mobile access for millions.
Yang also highlighted the global digital access disparity, urging the industry to foster stronger digital inclusion efforts. The widespread adoption of 5G-A is seen as a critical step toward addressing connectivity needs and advancing towards an intelligent future.
