Rwanda and Huawei Celebrate Smart Education Project and DigiTruck Launch

On October 3, 2025, in Kigali, Huawei and Rwanda's Ministry of Education announced the completion of the first phase of the Smart Education Project and the launch of the Huawei TECH4ALL DigiTruck project. These initiatives highlight Rwanda's commitment to digital transformation in education and skill enhancement of its population.

The Smart Education Project has connected 1,500 schools to high-speed Internet, established two data centers, and created a foundational education network. This project supports Rwanda's Vision 2050 and aims to transition the country into a knowledge-based economy. Nearly 1.5 million students can now access quality education resources.

The DigiTruck project, a collaboration between Huawei and Rwanda's Ministry of ICT & Innovation, delivers free digital skills training. The solar-powered classroom is equipped with laptops and Internet access, focusing on underserved communities. It aims to train 5,000 individuals across Rwanda in three years.
