Huawei Partners with CEMIG for Enhanced Energy Network in Brazil
Huawei has joined forces with Brazil's CEMIG to enhance the energy grid through a 450 MHz LTE private network. This initiative aims to support CEMIG's vast infrastructure, which serves around 9 million customers across 774 municipalities in Minas Gerais.
CEMIG, recognized as Brazil's largest integrated electric company, faces challenges due to its expanding electrical system. As part of a major investment plan, the company is committed to doubling its substation numbers and modernizing operations. This expansion requires reliable telecommunications, which led to their partnership with Huawei.
Huawei will provide a high-capacity telecommunications network, improving security, quality, and resilience. The 450 MHz frequency, chosen for its wide coverage and cost efficiency, will facilitate this transformation, adhering to global energy sector standards.
